There are tons of sites that will pay you to do things like take surveys, click on links, etc. and while none of these sites pay enough to be considered a job, they can provide you with some decent pocket change. These are the sites I’ve been using for a few years now and I make anywhere between $100 and $200 a month.
Branded Surveys (formerly Mintvine)
Branded Surveys is a pretty good site that pays you to take surveys. What I like the most about this site is that even if you are disqualified from a survey they will still give you a few points (anywhere from 5 to 30) and if you are going to be disqualified it usually happens pretty quickly so you don’t end up wasting time. You have to have at least 1,000 points to get paid (which is equal to $10.00).
This site is run by Amazon and you’ll find all kinds of little tasks from academic research surveys to marketing surveys to transcription and data entry. Some people make anywhere from $500 to $1,000 a month on this site but they really have to work at it. Personally, I just like to do the surveys. A nice place to find good “hits” as the tasks are called is the Reddit group “Hits Worth Turking For“.
There are also a lot of tips and browser extensions you can use to help you make more money on mTurk. I wrote a whole guide about it here.
This is a newer site that lets researchers post surveys. You only have to have £5.00 to cash out. They don’t post surveys that often but it’s still a nice little money maker.
Just like with mTurk, there are some tricks to making the most money with Prolific. I wrote a guide to Prolific here.
This site actually isn’t as good as it used to be and they aren’t always taking sign-ups. They used to only send you a survey that you were guaranteed to qualify for and you would get at least $3 for it. Now they have a “router” system like a lot of other lower quality sites. This means a lot of times you get disqualified for a survey and unlike Mintvine, you don’t get any points for it. However, they do have a “shoptracker” program that still makes them worth using. It’s a small program you install on your computer and every so often they’ll ask you to connect your Amazon account to it so they can see your shopping habits. So just doing that alone is an easy $3.
This is a site that pays $0.10 for every (very short) survey you take. That doesn’t seem like much but it does add up and each survey only has a handful of questions so it’s more like taking a short poll. The only thing I dislike about this site is that you have to have $15 before you can get paid.
Another way some people make money is with “phone farming”. I’ve actually done this before but I no longer recommend it. But you can make money with it. If you’d like to learn more click here.
