No one has ever accused me of being good at naming my art. So I’m just calling this “Surreal Lake”.
My friend Adrian and I went to Glenwood Park (in Princeton, WV) a while back. He has a really good eye for photography and noticed the water behind this patch of grass had the reflection of the sky in it. It’s a really cool photo. Here it is.
So I decided to extend the top of the image, add ripples to the water, add a layer of clouds above the water, and add the Milky Way to the sky.
I think the clouds could have turned out better (they’re a little cartoonish looking) and the water could have been better too. But I’m just getting used to using Photoshop. (I never could afford it before but now you can get both Photoshop and Lightroom for $10.00 a month). And I had a hell of a time trying to put ripples in the water. After trying everything I could think of, this is the best I could do.
But overall I like it quite a bit. It’s supposed to be surreal looking so I don’t think it matters too much that the clouds and water aren’t perfect, but perfection is what I always strive for. 🙂
