I make tons of pasta. Mostly because I’m lazy and it’s super easy to make, but also because it’s delicious. I hate having to drain the water out though. I have a collander but, of course, it’s huge and it’s a pain in the butt to use. So I thought I’d try out this clip-on food strainer.
Sorry for the blurry picture. It’s hard to take pictures and cook at the same time. 🙂
It’s pretty awesome. It’s flexible and clips right on to any size pot or pan. It’s FDA approved and made from BPA-free silicone. It’s even dishwasher safe. The silicone also makes it super easy to clean for those of you us that don’t have a dishwasher. I love silicone products because nothing sticks to them.
It’s also heat resistant so you it can withstand temperatures over 450 Fahrenheit and it will never break, burn, or melt.
I like using this much better than my usual method of putting a big collander in the sink and draining the water that way. This clip-on strainer frees up my hands and takes up much less space in my sink when it’s time to do dishes. The only negative thing I can think of is that with some pots (especially the kind that sort of flare out at the top) it can be a little difficult to clip on but it isn’t too hard. As long as I remember to clip it on before I start cooking it isn’t a problem at all.
